A News Release from Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey
Posted November 27th, 2017 on Niagara At Large
Ottawa, Ontario – Vance Badawey, Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre, will be returning to Washington D.C., this week to meet with his American counterparts to discuss issues of trade and the current negotiations for changes to NAFTA.
This is Badawey’s second visit to the American capital this year. Badawey travelled as a member of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group in March where he participated in over 35 meetings over the course of three days. Meetings covered a range of topics, including: the Great Lakes, transportation, economy, and cross-border commerce.
“I am honoured to have been selected to travel with the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group to Washington D.C., to discuss trade and the ongoing NAFTA negotiations. These issues are top of mind for many Canadians, and especially for the many businesses in Niagara who work on a regular basis with customers and clients throughout the United States.
The meetings we had in March with Members of the United States Congress and Senators were extremely productive and I am eager to building on the foundation that was established in spring 2017. Canada and the United States have a long history of maintaining successful bilateral relations, and I look forward to working towards strengthen those ties.”
