For all of us across this greater Niagara region who all too often find ourselves wondering if there is anything citizens can do to stop moneyed developers and their political friends from forcing bad planning on our communities, ‘Citizen Jane – Battle for the City’ is a documentary film that should inspire us all to lock arms as citizens in our communities and fight on because it is possible to win!

I saw this great documentary when it was screening at the Amherst Theatre in Buffalo this spring and tonight – this Wednesday, July 19^th at 7 p.m. at the Film House at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in downtown St. Catharines off St. Paul Street – it is screening again.

Sorry I missed getting this post on earlier, but if you are interested and can still catch this July 19^th screening of Citizen Jane, I know you will love it.

And as you read it,  think about the lawsuit the Niagara Peninsula Authority slapped against St. Catharines citizen and retired Canadian Armed Forces officer Ed, Smith, the lawsuits filed against St. Catharines regional councillors Brian Heit and Kelly Edgar – all for roles they have played in trying to bring some truth to power when it comes to the conduct of our government and its accountability to we, the people.
