Queen’s Park, Ontario – NDP MPPs Cindy Forster (Welland) and Wayne Gates (Niagara Falls) issued the following statement –
“We are deeply disturbed to hear news reports about Karla Homolka volunteering at a Montreal area school. We share the concerns of parents who believe that their children should never have been put in this position.
Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo were convicted of committing horrific crimes against innocent school children in our region.
We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the violence that Homolka and Bernardo inflicted upon the victims and their families. We repudiate the lasting damage that they did to our communities with their despicable acts.
Our thoughts today are with the families, and the members of our communities, who are re-traumatized by recent news reports.”
