I refuse to listen to (Trump’s inaugural ceremonies) tripe.

Imagine how many great novels, documentaries and movies I can digest in four years! Thanks Donnie Boy.

No man (nation) is an island. Although I’m against pipelines and fossil fuels, I wonder what Trump would do if Canada decided to build the pipeline through British Columbia and sell all of the bitumen to China, thus leaving the U.S. without access. Invade? Build a wall?

America can just tear more of its own land apart fracking for gas and digging for more coal. It can continue to destroying the lives of miners from black lung and mine collapses, rather than offer them job training in green alternatives.

Talk about regression.

Trump has alienated the EU, UK, NATO, France, Germany, Palestine, China and how many others already? Canada has technology, resources and tons of friends eager to trade with us. The U.S. can slam shut its doors and then see, as Sarah Palin, the Rhodes Scholar, says, “How’s that workin’ for ya”?

Trump is trying to turn nations against nations, and will create chaos and financial instability at home and abroad.

Hundreds of thousands of people from across the U.S.A., joined by some from Canada and elsewhere, pour through the streets of Washington. D.C this January 21st to let the new Trump administration know they won't let it go backwards on women's right, rights for other groups and on climate change and other hard-fought social justice wars.

He has no intention of “uniting America” or the world, except on his terms and for his profit. Globalization and multinationals have many negative effects but the U.S. economy, with its limited population and market. cannot excel in isolation. It NEEDS trade, but other nations, if bullied and coerced into unequal deals, will go elsewhere.

Trump wants to “unlock the mysteries of disease” but thinks vaccines cause autism.

“There should be no fear”. I guess that’s why he is fomenting it.

“Harness the industries and technologies of the future” while denying climate change as a Chinese hoax.

“A total allegiance to the USA”. Blind patriotism wrapped in a flag. No danger there.

“There is no room for prejudice” unless you’re female (and not fat or a ‘10’). Latino “rapists,” whom he freely hires using visa loopholes, LGBT, Muslim or, above all, a Hillary loving anti Trump “Libtard” (slang for a “stupid” liberal or progressive who is said to be dreaming pipe dreams or living in a fantasy world).

“We will all be protected by the great men and women of our military” and “we all bleed red,” except draft dodgers like him.

“Debate our disagreements honestly”, like “Get him outta’ here.” “Rough him up,” he tells his supporters, “and I’ll pay for your lawyer”

“Other countries are making our products and stealing our jobs,” he says. Then he uses Chinese steel for his buildings ,while the U.S. steel industry flounders.  And he exploits the use of cheap foreign labour for his clothing lines.

“Buy American and hire American,” again using a visa loophole to hire cheap foreign labour.

Trump hired Polish demolition crews (and he lied about doing so) to dismantle the Tiller building in Manhattan to build Trump Tower and was sued by the New York demolition union.

He hired Mexicans for his Florida estate – cheaper, you know- again using the H-1B visa loophole, allowing “non Americans to be hired when no Americans can do the job.”  Laughable!

“We will not impose our way of life but let it shine as an example,” Trump claims. You gotta’ be kidding.

“We will reinforce old alliances.” like destroying NATO, encouraging the breakup of the EU and negating trade treaties.

“We will rebuild our country,” but he does not pay taxes. He told voters in 2012 that those who don’t pay taxes were losers. Now he turns around and says they are “smart”.

God Bless America. Someone has to.

  1. Thank you for posting Doug. I feel it necessary to add as a post script that reports have since come out about Canadians and even American nationals living in Canada (as well as other foreign nationals living in Canada) being quizzed at the border, some blatantly asked were they “pro or anti Trump”, had they ever been connected to fanatical organizations or travelled abroad, then fingerprinted, photographed and denied entry. Of course that is their prerogative as is ours to deny entry of Americans to Canada BUT for serious reasons like criminal histories, guns and other travesties. Such extreme measures over what the border guards considered a “potentially violent” demonstration went above and beyond sanity. Of course, as we all know, the demonstrations by over a million women in pink pussycat hats were as violent as you could get….NOT.

    Welcome to the future.
