This drug and alcohol free event is the perfect opportunity to share in the richness of Indigenous culture by enjoying traditional dancing, drumming, singing, crafts, food and drink, and community spirit while we honour Indigenous adoptees.
The spirit of perseverance is strong in the oft marginalized Indigenous community but The tens of thousand of Indigenous adoptees may be the most marginalized group of people in all of Canada. At this Niagara Powwow we want to honour the strength, resolve and wonder of some of our most important community members and show them that Niagara is the kind of inclusive and special place where everybody belongs.
For over 40 years the Niagara Regional Native Centre has worked to promote awareness of the culture of Aboriginal peoples within the community in an effort to establish a relationship of mutual understanding and respect between the Aboriginal peoples and the other members of the community.
