A Sad Sign of Our Times

It’s been too long since someone out there flashed us a ‘sign of the times’ worth posting, but here’s one we thought we’d share with you as we make our way through the dog days of summer.
This one comes courtesy of a long-time reader I can fairly well guess is no fan of U.S. presidential candidate and billionaire bigot and blowhard Donald Trump.
It is a sign that found its way to the internet from somewhere in the United States where I can tell you from my visit to Buffalo, New York this past Saturday and Sunday for that city’s annual Garden Walk tour, almost every single Buffalo resident I talked to is living in mortal fear of this fascist creep possibly becoming the next president of their country.
A majority of the people I talked to still wish Bernie Sanders had won the Democratic Party nomination for the presidency (Buffalo polled strongly for Bernie during the spring primaries) but said they will hold their noses this coming November and vote for Hillary Clinton, if they have to, to keep Trump out.
I only passed one house during the whole two days of the tour with a Trump sign in the yard where two dogs leashed to a pole near the the sign growled and barked at those of us passing by. Those dogs have the same temperament as the Donald, I thought, as their owner, sitting on the porch with five-o’clock shadow and his ball hat spun backwards yelled at them to “pipe down.”
You couldn’t make that scene up and for a split second I thought of snapping off a picture of those dogs snarling next to that Trump sign but the guy on the porch looked like he could grab my camera and put it in a place where I would have to have it removed via a procedure I’m not sure I’m covered for on the American side of the border.
So we’ll have to settle for the sign below, shared by one of our NAL readers instead.
