News from the Campaign on Niagara Falls Riding NDP candidate and MPP incumbent Wayne Gates
Niagara Falls, Ontario – This Friday, May 9th, Niagara Falls Ontario New Democrats nominated Wayne Gates again as their provincial candidate for the up-coming June election.
“I’d like to thank you for nominating me as your candidate to run for re-election on June 12th,” Gates said to crowd of supporters. “I’m standing here tonight to tell you that I will continue to fight to create local jobs, make life more affordable and make sure people have access to local healthcare where they need and when they need it.”
In a speech to Niagara Falls ONDP members after his nomination, Gates outlined his main concerns for the region. Daily GO train service to Niagara Falls, a long-term sustainable plan for the Fort Erie Race Track and Buy Local policies to help support farmers and wineries in Niagara, are all priorities Gates has committed to.
“I stand before you tonight to tell the people of Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-lake, Fort Erie and surrounding communities, that I will continue to bring their voice to Queen’s Park,” Gates said.
“I will continue bringing the issues of Niagara to Toronto and make Toronto listen.”

A Footnote from Niagara At Large – Only a few months after a by-election where the two faced off as leading candidates, Wayne Gates will once again be challenged by PC candidate and regional councillor for Niagara Falls, Bart Maves. If and when NAL receives news from the Maves campaign, we will post that too.
(NOW IT IS YOUR TURN. Niagara At Large encourages you to share your views on this post. A reminder that we only post comments by individuals who share their first and last name with them.)

Wayne has and is always front and centre with every issue that concerns the peoples of the Niagara Region and though having been bashed (or as they like to put it scolded) by certain Cons in this arena for inferring that the fight to save the Community Hospitals in the areas was a lost cause and that is why they did not attend “ANY” rallies, meetings or trips to Queen’s Park.( I think what this really means they did not give a shit about anyone or anything but their own little lives)
Wayne was always there, along with Tim Craitor, and Andrea Howrath through the rain the sleet and the cold, in front of the Douglas Hospital, The Port Colborne Hospital all events that showed concern.
That is what a good politician really is ……one who puts the people ahead of the Government in fact ahead of his own party if necessary, Craitor also was performing the same service to the people of this Region….No Conservatives though…. Especially NO HUDAK or Conservative noise makers including MPP MacLEOD.

Never mind, Joseph, HUDAK wasn’t even around at the rallies to continue the growth of the West Lincoln Hospital which is right in his riding.
