A Brief Note from NAL publisher Doug Draper
Once again, it is that holly jolly time of the season that ramps up the stress and blood pressure and leaves many asking for days after – especially when they get their next credit or debit card statement – why?

I know what some of you may be thinking – ‘So that’s what Draper looks like.’ No. That’s my family’s Christmas frog who also wishes you a merry one.
Why? Because beyond whatever ultimate fulfillment we may get out of gift giving and getting, it is a critical time for us to blow out all the gaskets when it comes to our personal budgets and do our part to pump up the retail sector and economy at large.
I always find it a little curious that the rest of the year we are bombarded with stories in the mainstream media about people spending more than they take in and going further and further into debt, then at Christmas it becomes our religious duty to spend, spend, spend like that gang of drunken’ sailors we keep hearing about when it comes to government spending. Then, by about the end of January, we are back to reading stories in the business pages of our newspapers about how much further people – especially those baby boomers that are beginning to flood the retirement rolls now – are falling into debt.
But enough of that. As Scarlett O’Hara, the heroine from Gone With The Wind used to say – let’s not worry about that now. We’ll worry about that tomorrow.
As for today, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy and peaceful holiday season, and thank you for your support for visiting this site and sharing your comments on it.

Thank you for bringing us the real news in Niagara. We appreciate your keeping Niagara At Large alive. You make us think. Sometime even get our blood to boiling. But, you give us the genuine article each time you write.
We appreciate the diverse views that find their way into Niagara At Large: no sugar coating, no worrying about what advertisers want to be written. You are really you when you write: for better or worse, you’re the genuine “article.”
Where else would we get the news that matters in Niagara?
Peace to you, and even better stuff in 2014. Again, thanks, eh!

Dear Doug. I would be remiss if I did not wish you a Merry Christmas. I was fortunate to get to know you personally during my years in politics and Intergity is the most appropriate word to describe. Keep it up my friend. Happy New Year.. Kim Craitor
