Rattling War Chains Over Iran. We Create Our Own Monsters

A Commentary by Mark Taliano

9/11, Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda, Taliban. … The west creates its own monsters. And it’s happening again.

The setting is marginally different; this time it’s Iran, but the story is the same.  Accusations of nuclear weapons are filling the air, diplomats are withdrawn, the UN is ignored, and industrial warfare is on the cusp of murdering thousands.

It is about oil and conquest, just like Iraq.  It is not about justice, a better world, democracy, or freedom.

Iran hasn’t invaded another country in the past one hundred years, and they aren’t about to do so now.

They are being provoked by the west and Israel, but it is certain that they won’t be the aggressors.   There may be a false flag event, and if war starts, thousands of innocents will lose their lives.

Unlike Iraq though, Harper’s Canada is already playing a bigger role in the looming atrocity, and once war is unleashed, Canada’s own special monster will be born. Thereafter, we will be ridiculed if we wonder why other people hate us

There are many alternate narratives that are currently lying dormant, but war is the only voice being heard right now.

As for Harper’s Canada, we are sealing our fate with this warmongering.  We are also disrespecting generations to come; not only here, but in the Middle East as well.

  1. I disagree Mark. I think it is about making a better world. A better, American-run, with the support (read: firepower) of the military, world. The US decided long ago that they are going to be the planetary police, with their interests protected, and it’s either their way or the highway. I also remember a time when Canada was known as a peacekeeper, meaning keeping the peace. Are we now subscribing to the American model, of making war to keep the peace? Say it ain’t so!

  2. Soon Canada will also be hated abroad. Whoopee. Just wonderful. I guess we just need to sit back and wait for our dose of terrorism.
Meanwhile, in all of this war mongering fear over nuclear arms, it is often ignored that Israel, a nation that has repeatedly flaunted international law (boarding humanitarian aid ships bound for Palestine and killing the occupants, continuing to build on Palestinian lands, etc.) has become a rogue syate and has nuclear weapons. Nobody seems to complain about that!
These illegal “pre-emptive” strikes are about resources, control and plain old American imperialism. Just like Rome and other empires, the US will overextend itself and decline (it’s already begun) enabling overthrow by people who are basically living in the 13th century and riding donkeys via guerilla means just as the Vandals overthrew Rome. It is being sped up, also just like all other past empires, by corruption from within. It can’t come soon enough. Unfortunately, especially with Harper siding with the US and Israel and our economic and physical proximity to the US, we’ll go with it. If there was ever a time to cut ourselves loose from the US and its tyranny, this is it. It’s unfortunate that the US public is being fed all this BS about “liberating” these nations and spreading democracy while so many people are dying on all sides of these conflicts.

  3. I wish we would just stop spending so much money to fight bigger and more destructive wars – period. Canada is no longer viewed as a neutral country at an international front. We are now being viewed as a puppet of the American regimes of Bush, etc. that perpetrated many a war over oil, anti-Islamism, etc. Canada has truly lost its true peacekeeping role.

  6. Let’s see …. the US has nuclear weapons, Israel has nuclear weapons … unlike the previous two, Iran hasn’t invaded another country in the past 100 years. The US/UK invasion of Iraq was and is a war crime.

  7. Instead of transitioning to alternative energy like Germany, countries stupidly commit the same old mistakes, and crimes. The illegal, terrorist invasion of Iraq basically created a “terrorist” factory. Of course FOX news and Ezra Levant probably don’t see it that way.
