Chorus Niagara, that singing group in Niagara, Ontario that received global exposure onYoutube this past Christmas season for its offering of the Hallelujah Chorus in a Welland shopping mall, is returning to the scene of that milestone moment to perform again.

A moment captured by Vickie Fagan and crew from that video-gone-viral around the globe of Chorus Niagara and company at Welland mall.
On Saturday, February 12, from 10 a.m. through to 3 p.m., Chorus Niagara will return to Welland, Ontario’s Seaway Mall’s Centre Court for its fifth annual “Sing-a-Thon” – a fundraiser to keep this now world-famous musical organization in business.
If you missed that Youtube moment when Chorus Niagara went viral – garnering millions of hits all over the world for its Hallelujah piece, you can head out to the Centre Court (might better know it as the ‘food court’) for more from this group.
Niagara At Large is posting below a media release from Chorus Niagara on the upcoming February 12 engagement. In the meantime, here is the link for that world-famous moment for this singing group this past Christmas season, produced by Vickie Fagan, a good friend of Niagara At Large, and her great Niagara-based communications firm, Fagen Media Group. CHORUS NIAGARA – FIFTH ANNUAL SING-A-THON
Seaway Mall, Centre Court
Welland, Ontario
Saturday, February 12, 2011
Continuous Performances between 10am and 3 pm
Chorus Niagara will be holding its 5th annual Sing-a-thon Fundraiser at “The Most Famous Food Court in the World.” Chorus Niagara will be performing our Sing-a-thon this year at the Seaway Mall in Welland, where our YouTube viral fame all began. The public is invited to attend a free concert with celebrity conductors (many from the Welland area). Each year we invite several leaders of our community to stand in front and conduct nearly 100 singers. Watch with amazement as Artistic Director Robert Cooper lends the celebrities a helping hand, and teaches them basic methods of conducting. We will be sure to perform the famed Hallelujah Chorus for shoppers. New this year: portions of the Sing-a-thon will be live web-streamed on to the internet, compliments of the Seaway Mall. Find this at http://www.seawaymall.com or on their Facebook page. Also appearing at 12:30pm will be our own Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir. Come on down to the Mall on Saturday, February 12 and listen to Chorus Niagara sing from 10 am to 3 pm. The Sing-a-thon is a major chorus fundraiser and generous community support is needed in order to continue presenting our programs of great, inspiring music. Donations can be made in person during the Sing-a-thon or easily and securely online through http://www.canadahelps.org
(Visit Niagara At Large at http://www.niagaraatlarge.com for more news and commentary on matters of interest and concern to our greater binominal Niagara region.)
Awesome!!! I hope many turn out. I hope to be there but I am not sure I can make it as I am from out of town. I have been following the group and Alphabet Photography and Fagan Video Production since all this went viral in Nov of 2010.
I am so proud of the group and for Sea Way Mall in Welland Ontario for permitting the group to do the video as well as this up coming Sing a Song.
Hope everyone in the Chorus and Sea Way Mall business and patrons enjoy the event!!!
Be keeping an eye out for more performances if I can’t make this event.
Greetings
From Guelph
