Frequent readers of Niagara At Large already know that we have a soft spot in our hear here when it comes to helping our animal friends.
In that spirit, we are posting the following information about Clyde, a nine-year-old cat looking for a new home after living his life with an elderly person who is no longer physically able to care for him.
Clyde is now the guest of Theresa Pilon, a long-tme member of Niagara Action for Animals, a not for profit, all volunteer charity in Niagara, “devoted to ending all forms of animal cruelty through education, direct action and legitimate protest,” as the organization puts it.

Just take your mouse and click on this poster on Clyde and it will go full screen so you can read it.
A brief description of Clyde, submitted by Thersa, goes like this; “Clyde is a great cat who likes to spend a LOT of his time outdoors when the weather is nice. He doesn’t care for the rain or cold though.
He’s very smart and was taught to sit pretty and comes when his name is called. He has a gigantic scratching post that can go with him. He does have a condition called Eosinophilic granuloma, commonly referred to as Rodent Ulcers. It affects his upper lip. He has been treated with steroids and it has helped. I am under the impression that he may occasionally have to have an injection for this, if it flares up again.
Other than that he is a very low-maintenance cat. I hope someone can give him a new home. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks,
Theresa Pilon, call 416 705 6145 or email veggiepower@gmail.com .
NAL hates to through this possibility in but I think we have a pretty good idea what fate may await a cat Clyde’s age if he ends up at the Humane Society, not that the folks there would not hope to adopt him too. But on the adoption front, it is hard for an older cat to compete with those cute little kittens.
So let’s all hope that there is someone out there who would call or email Theresa with the idea of giving this kitty another chance to have a nice home.
