A Brief Note from Doug Draper
Posted on Family Day, Monday, February 16th, 2026
I always felt that this was an odd time of the year for another holiday weekend. Why not sometime in the spring or summer when you can go to the beach or have a barbeque or better still – do both?
On the other hand, what better time – with all the ice and cold out there – to spend a day at home with your family.
So get off those screens, give the loved ones around you a warm hug and find some nice things to do together. Just do them in Canada and don’t, don’t, don’t cross that border to the U.S.A. If you have members of your family living there, invite them over here where there is none of that I.C.E. of another more menacing kind.
With that, I am going to get off this screen right now and spend some quality time with my family, including our our cats.

Our family cats, Luna and Misty, doing what they love to do best – enjoying a nice warm blanket
Niagara At Large will be back on Tuesday, February 17th.
