Desperately Hoping And Praying For PLUS ONE ABOVE ZERO

A Brief Comment by Doug Draper Followed By A Rick Mercer Video

Near record cold at Niagara Falls

If you like super sub-zero weather as much as I do, which is Not At All, and you have  not made like a snowbird and migrated south for the winter, you may find yourselves turning to the Weather Channel, hoping and praying on your knees for a forecast with just one day – even for a few hours in just one – where the temperatures rise above zero.

This may sound a little crazy but the way this winter has been going, if I see a day in the forecast like that, I’m thinking; “Oh boy. Maybe I’ll get out an old Beach Boys album with songs like ‘All Summer Long’ and ‘The Warmth of the Sun’ and play it.

In that spirit, an old friend and reader of Niagara At Large send me a video featuring Rick Mercer of CBC’s ‘This Hour Has 22 Minutes’ fame that many of us might relate to.

A Final Few Words From Doug Draper at Niagara At Large – Keep warm and please remember that there are people without homes out there and  growing numbers of them, thanks to an economy that  favours the upper 10 per cent and that  is not working for so many of  the rest of us today, including younger people who can’t afford to buy a home of their own, and who are in desperate need of you and I coming together to find solutions.

It is up to we, the people, to find solutions when our our governments – muncicipally, provincially and federally, won’t.
