‘What The World Needs Now Is Love, Sweet Love’

A Brief One from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large

Posted January 26th, 2026

In these rather dark and dangerous times we are living through, there are songs that help me find the strength to keep on pushing for better days.

This is one of those songs, composed by the legendary team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and performed by one of my all-time favourite singers, Dionne Warwick, that I would like to share with you right now.

It is  a song that was written during a period in the 1960s when young people were growing up with the fear of nuclear war and with the Vietnam War and conflicts over race, gender and equal opportunity for all when it comes to living a a happy and affordable life were dominating the news venues of the time.

Doesn’t that sound just a little familiar with where we are at now?

I think it does and that is why I also think that this song – once again – is in tune with the moment we live in now.

Please share some love and this song with others, Doug Draper, Niagara At Large

Let’s stand together for love folks! This HAS GOT TO BE STOPPED!!!
