A Brief Commentary by Niagara At Large reporter/publisher Doug Draper

On the 1st year anniversary of his second term as U.S. president – in a nightmare I’m sure that most people in free world pray will come to an end – Donald Trump posted the following image this January 20th on his social media site –
Last year, he posted a similar image of him planting a Canadian flag in our country (what a minute, could that be the Alps or Himalayas? but then why would he know?) during his continued threats to make Canada a “51st state” through punishing sanctions or some of force.
This January 20th, Prime Minister Mark Carney is meeting with countries from across Europe and other regions of the world at a World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where he will reportedly continue to forge build friendships and forge new trade bonds that will take Canada further away from the economic relationship we have had with the United States.
And while Carney is doing that, we, the people of Canada, can continue to do our part by no longer purchasing products ‘Made in the U.S.A’ and by no longer travelling to that country for any reason.
Let’s show Trump that the only flag we will fly in our country is our own and those of other countries we share friendly and supportive relationships with.
