Niagara Falls, ON  – The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will unite fans on both sides of the border on Friday, January 16, by lighting Niagara Falls in red, blue and white in support of the Buffalo Bills, ahead of their divisional round playoff game against the Denver Broncos.

Special illuminations are scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with each display running for 15 minutes.

The Buffalo Bill’s quarterback extraordinaire Josh Allen

This special illumination follows Josh Allen’s recent visit to Niagara Falls State Park with Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning for an episode of Peyton’s Places, where the two took in the breathtaking views of the world‑famous Falls.

Fans, families and Bills enthusiasts are encouraged to come out, show their spirit and join in the electrifying atmosphere as our binational region rallies behind Buffalo’s playoff run.

All special illumination requests are reviewed and approved by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, which has financed and operated the “illumination of Niagara Falls” since 1925. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is made up of representatives from the City of Niagara Falls Ontario, City of Niagara Falls, New York, Ontario Power Generation Inc., New York Power Authority, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Niagara Parks Commission.

A Footnote from Niagara At Large reporter/publisher Doug Draper – I have always always loved baseball more than what my favourite social/cultural critic George Carlin described as the “war-like” game of baseball. Yet while I was still crossing the border to Buffalo before the second coming of Trump, I always enjoyed taking in the excitement of the locals there when the Buffalo Bills looked like they had a chance of heading for the Super Bowl. This time I hope the Bills make it, if for no other reason than to give the people of Buffalo something to feel good about during these difficult times. We could all use a life where ever we can get it in a legal way that doesn’t harm the lives of others, couldn’t we?
