Niagara Region’s incoming Commissioner of Public Works Lisa De Angelis
THOROLD, ONTARIO – Lisa De Angelis has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Public Works. De Angelis joins Niagara Region with more than 35 years of experience in leadership and public infrastructure management.
As a licensed Professional Civil Engineer and a Registered Professional Planner, she brings strong inter-disciplinary background to her new role. She will begin her new role on Jan. 12, 2026.
Most recently, Lisa held the position of Vice President of Civil Infrastructure with Metrolinx where she led a team responsible for the engineering, management and renewal of more than $12 billion in infrastructure assets. Prior to this, she held a number of senior positions in the public sector including Director, Infrastructure Planning and Policy, Halton Region, where she initiated and implemented a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy for an asset registry valued at $6 billion (acquisition value).
Niagara Region’s Public Works Department includes Waste Management Services, Water and Wastewater Services, Transportation Services, Capital Planning and Asset Management, and Infrastructure Planning and Development.
