The Folly Of Prime Minister Mark Carney Caving In Wake Of Trump’s Temper Tantrum Over Ontario’s Anti-Tariff Ad

So late this past October, while millions of Canadian eyes were on the World Series standoff between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers, Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed reports that he apologized to pretend ‘strongman’ President Donald Trump over an ad Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government ran during the first couple of games of the series against Trump’s ongoing tariff war on us.
The ad, featuring a 1980s audio and video clip of then U.S. President Ronald Reagan saying that he preferred free trade over tariffs, was quite low key and tame by Doug Ford standards and even many business and political leaders across Canada either said they liked it or no serious problems with it.
But Trump, acting like the seven-year-old brat he becomes when others dare, in any way, to defy him, immediately shut down any more negotiations between Canada and the United States over the punishing tariffs he imposed on our country earlier this year, and he refused to give Carney the time of day during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit the two attended a week and a half ago..

Trump’s U.S. Ambassador To Canada Pete Hoekstra lectures us to “get over it.”
Trump’s ambassador to Canada, Pete Hoeskstra, who has previously expressed how “disappointed” he is with Canadians that we just can’t seem to “get over” all of his boss’s talk about making Canada a “51st state,” weighed in by going off on a rant and firing the F-bomb at Ontario’s U.S. trade representative during a recent economic meeting on our side of the border.
To all of this, Carney told reporters during a press conference at the end of the Asia-Pacific summit that he told Ford he shouldn’t run the ad – which is not the story we what we’ve heard from Ford, by the way – and that he called up Trump and apologized to him for an ad the president offensive.
So much for the “Canada Strong” slogan Carney repeated to us over and over again during and after his election campaign earlier this year.
What’s next?
Will he apologize to Trump for British/Canadian troops for burning lighting a fire to White House during the War of 1812 or for continuing to have a border between Canada and the United States?
Come on Prime Minister Carney.
I think millions of Canadians, including this one, chose to elect you because they believed that you would show the strength that is needed to deal with the bully in the United States.
History, going back to at least the pre-Second World War 1930s, has proven that appeasing a tyrant like Trump is not the answer.
Come on Prime Minister Carney. You Should know that e are never going to be able to trust any agreement we negotiate on trade or our security as a free and democratic nation with this greedy, power-hungry monster.
