Earlier this month (of September), another beluga whale died at Marineland, bringing the death toll to twenty whales, in addition to the seals, sea lions and penguins that have also died in captivity.
To continue to leave these animals at Marineland, where they clearly are not getting the care they need, amounts to continued neglect and abuse.
It’s time for the province to step in.

The whales at Marineland deserve better. They deserve to live out their lives in marine sanctuaries where they’ll never again be exploited for entertainment.
That’s why the Ontario Greens are calling on Premier Ford to work with marine mammal experts, Marineland and the federal government to develop a responsible, humane action plan for the future of these animals.
