After a walk along the Niagara Parkway with throngs of tourists as a rainbow arced over the Falls, I headed back to Mel Swart Conservation Park near my home in Thorold to watch the sun set over Lake Gibson on the last full day of summer.
Fall officially begins this Monday, September 22 at 2:19 P.M. and I hope it is a season that brings all of us at least a little peace and joy in this world full of difficulties and danger we now find ourselves living in.
As this fall begins, I will try to do the best I can to post as much news and commentary as I can that inspires hope, even as I continue to post news and commentary on the many challenges we face.

I have always believed that the only hope we have of solving the problems we face in this world is to do our best to resolve our differences in a civil way and to face those problems together, as people, head on.
Call me naive if you will, but that remains my hope as the sun rises on the first day of fall. And it is the only hope left that keeps this news and commentary site alive.
