Is The Last Weekend of Summer That Should Wake Us Up To The Perils of Climate Change Already Here Already?

It seemed like only yesterday to me that we were celebrating the first day of summer.

And now, here we are in this age of climate change, saying goodbye to one of the hottest summers on record, accompanied by an astonishing number of wildfires that destroyed billions of dollars’ worth of property and huge swaths of wildlife habitat across our country and others – just a prelude, by the way, to what is to come if we don’t wake up and take serious action to address the climate crisis now.

We are now at the last weekend of a summer that officially ends with the first day of fall, this Monday, September 22nd.

And with that I want to leave you with a song by written by one of the masters of summertime music, Brian Wilson, who left us this past June, and performed by Brian and his band mates in The Beach Boys.

I wish you some warmth, peace and joy on your last weekend of summer.
