A Brief One from Doug Draper

Oh ya, ‘what a long, strange trip it’s been.’
Even Jerry Garcia and fellow members of his band, The Grateful Dead, who wrote that lyric in 1970 for a song called ‘Truckin’, could never have imagine what a long, strange trip we would be living through today. I don’t care how many hallucinogenic drugs they were on.
This weekend marks the 60th anniversary of The Grateful Dead, one of the most popular bands that came out of the counterculture in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury neighbourhood in the mid-to-late 1960s, and the city is holding a festival in their honour.
So for all of the ‘deadheads’ out there (and by deadheads I don’t mean Trump supporters but the name adopted for long-time fans of the band), here is the song where that lyric came from.
To hear it put on your tie dye shirt or your granny skirt and by all means put some flowers in your hair before clicking on the screen immediately below –
