A Call-Out To All of Us from Biodiversity and Climate Action Niagara

Several groups that are part of Biodiversity and Climate Action Niagara are organizing a rally to protest the Bill 5 and Bill 17 power-grab by the Ford government. The protest will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m.
We will walk a picket line along the public sidewalk on King Street in front of the Plaza that houses PC MPP Sam Oosterhoff’s office at 4961 King St, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B0.
Please join us. It is a peaceful, family-friendly event.
Parking is limited in the area so plan ahead. Carpool if you can. You may be able to park in the former High School 4317 Central Ave, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B0
Bring signs. Your signs could say:
- No Trump-like Powers for Ford
- Protect Endangered Species
- No Lawless “Special Economic Zones”
- Save Green Development Standards
- Protect Green Energy Options
- Tear Up Bill 17
- Kill Bill 5
About Bill 5 and Bill 17 –
Bill 5 and Bill 17 will give Ford’s cabinet Trump-like powers to override existing law, rules and authorities. They will scrap Endangered Species Legislation, create Lawless “Special Economic Zones”, deny rights to Indigenous peoples, ban the importation of Green Energy components, protect the Ford government from lawsuits and scrap Green Development standards.
.A Pop Up Protest against the Ford government’s Bill 5 and Bill 17, is being held on Tuesday, June 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. in front of MPP Sam Oosterhoff’s office which is in a plaza at 4961 King St, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B0.
The Bills give Trump-like powers to cabinet, scrap Endangered Species Legislation, create Lawless Economic Zones, deny Indigenous Rights, ban Green Energy components and Green Development standards and indemnify the Ford government from lawsuits.
The Ford government’s recent announcements are part of its ongoing and unprecedented assault on good governance, Ontario’s environment, on good planning and on citizens’ rights and the rights of Indigenous peoples.
It is urgent that citizens speak up and show up now.
A picket line will be formed along the public sidewalk on King Street in front of the Plaza so that traffic is not impeded to the plaza’s businesses.
