Last year, more than 81,000 people in Ontario experienced homelessness — a 25% increase from the year before.
The solution is clear: safe, stable, affordable housing.
Instead, Doug Ford wants to criminalize homelessness – proposing jail time and heavy fines for people who are at their most vulnerable.

That’s why I have introduced the Homelessness Ends with Housing Act — legislation that, if passed, would establish a transparent, evidence-based plan to end homelessness in Ontario within ten years.
While people are sleeping in encampments and on sidewalks, the Ford government is responding with punishment — not support. Under the Ford government, Ontario is seeing record lows in housing starts, and on their watch the stock of existing affordable housing is disappearing at an alarming rate.
The Ontario Greens believe housing is a human right. We’re taking action — and we need your help.
Let’s end homelessness with housing, not handcuffs.
