A Message to All of Us from the Green Party of Ontario

It’s been less than three months since Doug Ford won the provincial election. And he’s already showing how determined he is to unleash his environmental wrecking ball with a veracity that makes his last two terms seem like a warmup act.
Bill 5 will axe the Endangered Species Act and water down environmental assessments. This will fast-track mining and infrastructure projects at the direct expense of Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife.
Over 230 species of plants and animals are already at risk in Ontario. With the Endangered Species Act now itself endangered, there’s little left to protect them. Worse still, more species will become endangered thanks to Ford’s anti-environment policies.
We’ve stopped Ford before. And we can do it again if we stand together.
Ontario Greens are standing up for the rights of communities and the protection of the places we love. We know what’s at stake if Doug Ford wins and Bill 5 becomes law: environmental protections, First Nations rights, and worker health & safety laws.
