Niagara Transit Enhances Rider Experience with “One Fare, Anywhere” and Transit Benefit Pass

Niagara, Ontario – Niagara Transit will launch its “One Fare, Anywhere” initiative and Transit Benefit Pass on July 1, 2025, to simplify fares and improve affordability.

Single fare system

“One Fare, Anywhere” will introduce a single fare system for all local and regional routes, replacing the current two-tiered structure. This change aims to make transit easier to use and encourage ridership across the region of Niagara. The new harmonized fares are:

Fare Prices Beginning July 1, 2025

Cash fare / Single ride – Adults (18 to 64 years) $3.50
Cash fare / Single ride – Seniors (65+ years) $3.50
Cash fare / Single ride – Youth (13 to 17 years or secondary school identification) $3.50
Cash fare / Single ride – 12 years and under Free
Day Pass N/A
10-ride card – Adults (18 to 64 years) $31.00
10-ride card – Seniors (65+ years) $20.00
10-ride card – Youth (13 to 17 years or secondary school identification) $25.00
31-day pass – Adults (18 to 64 years) $100.00
31-day pass – Seniors (65+ Years) $55.00
31-day pass – Youth (13 to 17 years or secondary school identification) $75.00
Monthly Transit Benefit Pass $50.00

Transit Benefit Pass

The Transit Benefit Pass initiative is a partnership between Niagara Region and Niagara Transit that supports equitable and affordable access to transit.

The Transit Benefit Pass is a discounted $50 monthly bus pass available to individuals and families on Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program benefits, or who qualify based on low-income criteria. The application portal will open on June 16, 2025.
