Every day we lose 319 acres of farmland in Ontario – that’s the equivalent of nine family farms.
Every. Single. Week!
The cause?
Urban sprawl, aggregate mining, and wasteful projects like highway 413.
We simply can’t afford to lose anymore. Food is our future — and Doug Ford is paving over it. That’s why the Ontario Greens have joined forces with Independent MPP for Haldiman–Norfolk, Bobbi Ann Brady, to introduce the Protect Our Food Act.
If passed, this act would create a Foodbelt that would permanently protect our agricultural lands from being paved over.
In the face of Trump’s tariffs, we must protect one of Ontario’s defining economic advantages; our food and farming sector.
The Ontario Greens are standing up to protect our farmland, support our farmers, and grow more food right here at home — but we need your help.
