Victory In Europe Day, 80 Years On

A Brief Comment by Doug Draper

It was 80 years ago today- May 8th, 1945 – that the war against fascism in Europe – then  bomb ravaged, blood-soaked theatre of the Second World War – was finally declared over.

Now , when our freedoms and democracy are being threatened more than they have in decades , let’s remember all of those many thousands of young Canadians who fought and died to keep our freedoms and democracy alive in our  sovereign nation.

In thonour of them, let’s continue to stand together against the threats to our quality of life and to our sovereignty being aimed at us by a United States  that, before Trump,  used to be one of our closest  friends and allies.

Buy Canadian. Boycott the U.S.A.
