A Brief Foreword by Doug Draper
Posted May 8th, 2025 on Niagara At Large

David Attenborough
For longer than most of us have been alive, he has been a passionate and inspiring voice for nature and for protecting our planet for all manner of human-made assaults, including climate change.
David Attenborough, who turns 99 this May 8th and who is biologist and producer of many award winning film documentaries on nature, has a new documentary, just out, called ‘Ocean’ that is getting rave reviews from film critics and environmentalists alike, and it is coming to the big screen at The Film House located inside the OntarioFirst Centre for the Performing Arts on St. Paul St. in downtown St. Catharines, Niagara for two showings late this May.
And just so you know, neither Niagara At Large nor I am receiving any monetary compensation for letting you know about The Film House screenings of this documentary,
The only compensation in it for me and I think for all of is is how much viewing this film may inspire us to carry on with doing our part as individuals and to encourage our governments to do more to protect and preserve our natural heritage.
I have sometimes found that when I am feeling discouraged or beaten down in the fight for a cleaner, greener planet, I think about the good efforts of David Attenborough and say; ‘If he can keep doing it at his age, so can I.
