A Brief Message of Hope from Niagara At Large reporter/publisher Doug Draper

Even through the nastiest weather this spring, the crocusts in my garden survived. photo by Doug Draper
One of he sure signs of spring for me each year are the purple crocuses that pop up in a garden in my front yard.
I always marvel at how well these small flowers, as fragile as they appear to be, stand up to almost any kind of weather Mother Nature may throw at them this time of year. And this year, in particular, they have managed to live on through bouts of heavy rain, through intense winds and snow pellets, and through temperatures that have fluctuated between a bit of warmth and below freezing cold.
Yet, they still managed to survive and, as strange as it may seem, I can’t help but look at them opening their petals each day and say; “If they can do it, surely I will be able to make it through a spring too full of cold and wet weather, and through all of the threats and insults that the orange bully south of the border has been throwing at us too.”
I know, from listening to my friends and neighbours, and to people who call in to radio talk shows, that between Trump and the weather, many of us have been feeling a bit down. But like those crocuses in my garden, I am confident that we will survive and so will this great country of ours.
With that, I want to share a video I first posted a month or two ago, featuring a soundtrack I hope will be uplifting to all.
To hear and watch it, click on the screen below and crank up the sound –
Let’s continue to stand proud for Canada and show Trump that we are not going to take it by buying as many Canadian products a we can and by boycotting products Made in the U.S.A. and cancelling any and all travel to the U.S.A. as long as Trump keeps insulting and threatening us.
Finally, I wish you all a warm and peaceful Easter Weekend.
