In the wake of a tsunami of punishing tariffs that Trump slapped on countries around the world this April 2nd, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney said the tariffs will affect the lives of millions of Canadians.
Carney said during a brief news briefing after a cabinet meeting in Ottawa that Canada is going to fight Trump’s tariffs with “counter measures” and act to protect Canadian jobs. He added that he will be meeting with provincial premiers and territorial leaders across the country this Thursday, April 3rd and will have more to say about actions Canada will take after that meeting.
