One Young Ontario Woman’s Horrific Story About Being Harassed In Trump’s America

A Brief Commentary by Doug Draper, followed by a disturbing CBC TV News report

Posted April 3rd, 2025 on Niagara At Large

Since Trump began his threats against Canada’s economy and sovereignty more than four months ago, I have heard many of my fellow Canadians say out loud that they are now afraid to cross the border to the United States.

Many have also said they will not cross the border on principle and out of a sense of support for Canada. And some have said they will not enter the United States “until he (meaning Trump) is gone.”

Indeed, there have already been stories about Canadians who do go over being insulted or harassed in one way or another by their American counterparties or being detained and getting a going over by police or border agents.

Ontario resident Emilie Nield, arrested and jailed in Trump’s America for driving while holding an Ontario licence.

One of the worst cases I’ve seen – aired on a CBC TV News network just a few days ago – involved a young Canadian woman who was pulled over by police in the State of Georgia simply for having an Ontario licence plate on her car.

What happened to her, up to and including being thrown in a jail cell, is another stark reminder that we can no longer assume that Americans are our friends as we more rightfully did before Trump was sworn in this past January for a second term as U.S.

There are many Americans, including friends of mine south of the border, who say they love Canada and oppose virtually everything Trump is saying and doing, and I believe them. The problem is that there are also many Americans why believe virtually everything Trump says and does and would follow him to the gates of Hell.

Finally, and as I have repeated time and time again, let’s continue to stand together as Canadians for a free and independent country by purchasing as many Made In Canada as we can, by limiting or completely cancelling travel to the United States and by boycotting products Made in the U.S.A.

Hell no, very few of us want to go. The Peace Bridge entrance to the United States almost void of non-commercial traffic, this Thursday, April 3rd at 1:54 p.m. It’s like we are right back at the height of the COVID pandemic.
