In This Federal Election, Make Sure You Vote For Nature!

“Together, we can halt and reverse biodiversity loss, restore protection for species at risk and protect our natural heritage. The only way this will happen is if candidates and political leaders hear loudly and clearly that environmental protection is important to you.”

A Message from Ontario Nature, a citizens organization advocating for the protection of our natural heritage

Nature is foundational to the Canadian identity. With a federal election called for April 28, 2025, it is imperative that all political parties commit to protecting and restoring nature.

The next federal government must adequately fund conservation to meet Canada’s international commitment to protect 30% of its lands and waters by 2030.

Science has long documented the human health benefits of healthy ecosystems. Our economy and well-being depend on a federal government that is committed to ensuring a liveable planet for our children and future generations.

Together, we can halt and reverse biodiversity loss, restore protection for species at risk and protect our natural heritage. The only way this will happen is if candidates and political leaders hear loudly and clearly that environmental protection is important to you.

One of the many residents of Fort Erie, Ontario’s Waverly Woods. Together, we need to protect places like this before it is too late for future generations to enjoy and benefit from them.

Whom we vote for matters now more than ever. Not just for our country, but for the health of the planet. We will need to elect leaders who are prepared to chart a course to a better future at a time when we’re experiencingbiodiversity declines, weakening environmental protections and climate change.

Together, we can be the voice for wild species and wild spaces.
