People Power May Still Prevail Over The Dark Shadows Of Trump & Musk

Vermont Senator and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) host a huge rally for freedom, democracy and justice for all in the heart of Trumpland
It is hard these days for a Canadian or for a citizen of any other free and democratic country in Europe or elsewhere around the world to look at what has been unfolding in the United States since Trump’s second ascendency to presidential power and not be overcome with feelings of dread and despair.
I find myself mourning for a country that only a few weeks ago I still viewed as a good friend and neighbor to our Canada. And the threats of wreaking economic havoc on us as a means to forcing a takeover of our country has driven me and many of my fellow citizens to feelings of anger and determination to break away and forge stronger friendships with Europe and beyond.
But then, as a close friend in the United States reminded me over and over again in a recent phone call about all of this mayhem, many Americans did not vote for Trump and even growing numbers who did are already beginning to regret it and are ready to fight back.
In that spirit, Vermont Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) have been holding huge rallies in stadiums across the United States in some of the most red hot Trump MAGA states in the country and the cheers they have received as they slam Trump and hold out the promise of a better life for every day Americans have been ear-shattering.
It is enough to give this Canadian, at least, some hope that people power will ultimately prevail over the totalitarian jack boots of Trump and his circle of thugs.
