No wonder Michael J. Fox, a Canadian/American activist and retired actor, once said this –
A Footnote from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large –

A recently published book worth reading.
I have had the pleasure of co-existing with cats and dogs all of my life and I closely watch the birds, squirrels and other creatures, great and small, living their lives in my yard and the creatures at least trying to live their lives in what is left of the open fields, wetlands and forests that we humans have not yet destroyed.
Do those creatures living in the wild hunt and kill other creatures for food? Yes they do. But nothing they do is driven by greed, cruelty and hatred.
So I fully agree with Michael Fox’s observation, and it leaves me wondering – Would this planet be better off if we went extinct?
Perhaps that is something we should all think about if we can’t learn to live together peacefully as humans and live in harmony with other life on this miraculous oasis in space called Earth.

You need a licence to catch a fish but not to reproduce. We are a cancer. 1.8 billion of us @1920. 8.1 billion of us in 2020. Humanity achieved marvellous things but as is always true, all things can be double edged swords.
I was just listening to Don McLean’s “Vincent”. Every time I turn on the news the words from that song jump out at me, “They would not listen, they’re not listening still, perhaps they never will”.
