Ontario and Canada didn’t start this tariff war against the United States, but together Team Canada will win it.
To start, I’ve directed the LCBO, the largest purchaser of alcohol in the world, to remove all American booze from the shelves. This means 3,600 products from 35 states are off our shelves.
In addition, we are cancelling the $100 million deal with Elon Musk’s Starlink.
And we’re banning U.S. companies from the tens of billions of dollars in provincial procurement that happens every year.
What’s more, I’ve told the federal government they can count on Ontario’s full support for dollar-for-dollar reciprocation in response to the U.S.’s unjustified tariffs.
We don’t want a trade war with the U.S., but we will do whatever it takes to protect Ontario and Canada.
