‘We didn’t start this war but we sure in hell are going to win it.’ – Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario

Ontario Premier Doug Ford punches back at the bully south of the border
It isn’t very often at all that I feel like doing a fist bump with Doug Ford even if he would do one back with one of his critics like me.
But this March 4th, rapidly becoming known as ‘Tariff Tuesday’ because of the harmful tariffs on Canadian products that Trump has now slapped on us, the newly re-elected Premier of Ontario didn’t take long to hit back.
I made a visit to the nearest LCBO store in St. Catharines earlier on this day and staff were already busy taking every single bottle of American liquor and wine off of the shelves and piling them up in boxes on large wooden skids.
The staff in the store, like so many other Canadians, was so angered by damage that Trump and his band of MAGA nut bars are trying to do to our country that they expressed joy in doing it.

If I could make a suggestion, I think the province should take all of the alcoholic beverages that the so-called “great one,” Wayne Gretzky, produces at his winery and distillery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario off LCBO shelves too. If not, I urge all of you out there not to buy any of his alcoholic products.
And why? Gretsky was down there at Trump’s garish palace in Florida weeks ago, joking with him about “Governor Trudeau” making Canada a “51st state.” He also attended Trump’s inauguration in Washington D.C. this past January when Trump was once again threatening Canada’s sovereignty and its economy with punishing tariffs.

Canadian hockey has-been Wayne Gretzy with his pal Donald Trump. Let’s stop buying his alcoholic products too.
No wonder he received boos from Canadian fans in the Boston, Massachusetts arena weeks ago when Team Canada won an international hockey championship.
In the meantime, many of us may not have been happy to see Doug Ford win a third-term as Ontario’s premier late this past February, but maybe he is the best political leader in the province right now to punch back at Trump.
Often it takes a bully to beat off a bully.

A Footnote from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large – Let’s all continue standing up for our Canada by purchasing products made in Canada when we can or at least purchasing them from countries that are friendly to us, and by boycotting everything made in the U.S.A. and cancelling any travel to the United States.
