Ontario’s Liberals would make life more affordable for people with disabilities, by permanently doubling the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) benefits.
“People with disabilities are dying in this province because Doug Ford has neglected to provide the basics,” said Bonnie Crombie. “ODSP rates are so low that people are forced to live in poverty, and rely on food banks just to get by. It’s unacceptable.”
Nearly half a million people rely on ODSP, which currently provides a maximum of $1,368 per month and has remained nearly stagnant under Doug Ford. It simply isn’t enough to live on, and is less than the median rent in Ontario. Doug Ford has forced people with disabilities to live in poverty, while giving billions of dollars away to his rich friends. That’s a fact.
Ontario’s Liberals will deliver more for people with disabilities by permanently doubling Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) benefits and indexing it to inflation.
