THOROLD – Doug Ford has decided to put his own political interests ahead of Ontarians by calling an early election, despite 500,000 jobs being at risk.
“At a time when Ontario’s economy is uncertain and hundreds of thousands of jobs are on the line, Ford is prioritizing his own power over the needs of the people,” said Jeff Burch.
“Together, we can turn the page on Doug Ford and elect a government that will work for you: fixing healthcare, making housing more affordable, and lifting workers and families out of poverty.”
Burch recently unveiled two major local platform initiatives. “I am fighting to restore, protect, and expand our local healthcare services,” Burch said.
“With the increasing pressure and overwhelming demand on our healthcare system, it is crucial that we have a fully-serviced Welland Hospital and a 24/7 Port Colborne Urgent Care Centre.”

Additionally, he is calling for the removal of parking fees at hospitals. “No one should be burdened with thousands of dollars in parking fees while visiting a sick loved one.”
Under Ford’s leadership, Ontario set a record in 2024 for the most ER shutdowns and closures. According to the CBC, “1 in every 5 hospitals with an ER or urgent care centre experienced unplanned shutdowns.”
As Doug Ford continues to put his own political ambitions ahead of Ontarians, Jeff Burch remains focused on the issues that matter most to local families, healthcare, good-paying jobs, and a better future for Niagara Centre.
