Canada’s Hopefully Soon-To-Be-Gone Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, Has Proven To The World That He Is Not The Person To Do It

In the Holiday Season movie favourite, A Christmas Story, young Ralphie deals with a bully about the only way a person can to stop them from going after you.
If you have seen the popular Holiday Season movie ‘A Christmas Story’, you might remember nine-year-old Ralphie (the main character in the film) and his younger brother Randy being chased back and forth to school by a neighbourhood bully.
The harassment went on and on until one day Ralphie, as small as he was, used all the strength he had to pin the bully down on the ground and punched him until his nose started to breath.
The result? The bully never bothered Ralphie and his brother again.
That brings me to the big bully we Canadians now have to contend with – once again – south of the. border.
As Ralphie’s story shows, you can’t coddle, play nice or suck up to a bully because as much as it gives his ego a temporary rush, he’ll only be back the next day mocking you and pushing you around again. Groveling at his feet will not earn you any respect. In fact it might bring on more contempt.
It’s a lesson we all should have learned way back in our days as kids in the schoolyard.
But apparently it is not a lesson that sunk in with our current Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau making nice with Trump down at Mar–Lago. In a matter of days, Trump was back to openly mocking and threatening Canada again.
In the wake of threats U.S. presidential-elect Donald Trump repeated last month from his campaign playbook to slap what almost any economist on both sides of the Canada/U.S. border agrees would be highly inflationary, job-killing 25 per cent tariff on any Canadian goods entering the United States, Trudeau made a poorly-kept “secret” of a trip down to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to stand in line with no end of other political and corporate sycophants kissing the soon-to-be king’s ring.
Whether there was any actual ring kissing in Trudeau’s case remains unknown, but whatever he had to say to him about how devastating such tariffs would be to both countries has obviously had little or no demonstrable effect.
To the contrary, Trump is continuing to threaten Canada with the tariffs while lying about our border being as much of a fire hose for illegal immigrants and drugs as America’s border with Mexico is.
And just to add insult to injury, in recent days Trump has been mocking Trudeau and company with the possibility of Canada become a 51st state of the United States with Trudeau serving as its governor.
“The Great State of Canada is stunned as the Finance Minister resigns, or was fired, from her position by Governor Justin Trudeau,’ Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday night, jibing at the Canadian PM,” stated Trump in one of his latest salvos on social media after the bombshell news surfaced this past December 16th, 2024 that Canada’s finance minister and deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland resigned from Trudeau’s cabinet.
“Her behavior,’ Trump added, ‘was totally toxic, and not at all conducive to making deals which are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. She will not be missed!!!”
So far, there has not been one strong word back from Trudeau who has all but gone into hiding as more and more of his Liberal government members are showing the guts to come out and say that he should resign and make way for a leader enough Canadians may be able to rally behind to keep something even worse – a Pierre Poilievre-led Conservative Party – from forming a government.
In fact, if you have been following the way Trump deals with those he feels are not loyal enough to him or are his enemies, he saves his harshest words for those who have had the guts to face him down, as Freeland did during Trump’s first term as president from 2016 to 2024. Perhaps that’s why he saves more venom for her, calling her “totally toxic” and unwilling to co-operate.

Trump recently posted this on his social media page with another remark about Canada’s future status as a 51st state. As an example of his ignorance, he is photo shopped with a Canadian flag, looking over some other region of the world.
All the feckless Trudeau gets from Trump is a demotion from prime minister to government of a 51st state.
For this Canadian, as I am sure, for many others, it is both humiliating and disturbing to watch our country’s leader show so little strength or willingness to openly tell the bully to the south that Canada is ready and willing to fight back, including doing more of our business with other countries in Europe and elsewhere, if necessary.
On U.S. cable network program this December 17th, a show called the Reid Out on MSNBC, host Joy Reid and her guests spent some time talking about how Trump appears to have ‘emasculated’ Trudeau.
To watch a very brief segment of that MSNBC program which went on and on, click on the screen below –
Trudeau’s wimpy behaviour in the wake of Trump’s accustions that Canada is a major conduit for illegal immigrants and drugs into the United States and in the face of Trumps threats to punish what has been a friendly neighbor for the better part of two centuries is embarrassment our country in front of the world.
We need a leader who is willing to stand up firmly to Trump and make it clear to this bully that, if necessary, we will fight back.
And no, that leader is not the ranting and raving head of the federal Conservative Party, Pierre Poilievre.

I agree with many of your comments. I’m not so sure about this one. For sure, Trump is a bully. Regardless of what Trudeau did or did not do, Trump, clearly has his eyes on Canada, well, at least, all of our natural resources. He recently made a comment about turning on the water from Canada when the Americans want/need it. I think it took great courage to go to see Trump on his own turf. Canadians need to wake up to the fact that Trump could and would take over Canada. Look what the Americans did in Hawaii! Trump calling us the 51st state, hopefully, was a wake up call for Canadians who have become very complacent about our own national identity and once again will hopefully, take pride in our country and not let us be run over by a bully or elect a Trump-wannabe as PM. It takes more than a strong leader to fight a bully like Trump. It takes the backing of a nation that is committed to maintain its own independence. I sure hope we have enough strength and courage to keep our independence.

As we know, and not surprisingly, Justin Trudeau has cancelled all media interviews “…until further notice…” (MY words, not his). I think he’s simply taking a break to plan his counter-attack on Trump and his other critics during the Parliamentary recess which goes on up to the last day in January 2025, If I were in his shoes, I’d do the same.
