Vast Majority of Callers To CBC Radio Phone-In Program Say It’s Time For Trudeau To Say Goodbye – NOW!

Many Callers Also Express Strong Distaste For Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre

A majority of CBC Radio program callers across Ontario want Canada’s Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (shown here at right) to resign, but don’t want federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre (shown left) to form the country’s next government either. Many expressed a strong distaste for Poilievre and his angry-man rhetoric.

In the wake of federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s sudden, earth-shaking resignation from Prime Minister Trudeau’s cabinet this December 16, CBC Radio’s noon-hour phone-in show Ontario Today devoted a full hour to the subject.

A majority of those who called in commented favourably on Freeland’s decision to quit before delivering a fall economic statement for Trudeau that she reportedly had strong issues with and before sources say Trudeau was girding to fire her from the finance minister portfolio, leaving her stained with anything the public may not like about the economic statement.

A majority of callers from across the province, including a number who identified as Liberal Party supporters, also made it clear that they want Trudeau to resign now to make way for a new Liberal leader before an almost inevitable snap election is called.

Many callers also stressed their dislike for federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre and their lack of confidence that the federal New Democrats could win enough seats to defeat him and form the the next government.

That left many saying that perhaps the only hope to keep Poilievre from forming a government is a new Liberal leader that enough Canadians could feel some degree of comfort in voting for.
