A Call-Out to Community Members from the Town of Lincoln in Niagara, Ontario
Posted October 23rd, 2024 on Niagara At Large
(A Brief Foreword Nfrom Doug Draper at Niagara At Large -Pats on the back should go to Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton and her town council for partnering with Ontariogreen Conservation Association to do this. And two thumbs up to the Town of Lincoln for openly making the link here between planting and preserving trees as a way of fighting climate change. More municipal governments in our Niagara region should take note.)
Lincoln, ON – The Town of Lincoln, in collaboration with Ontariogreen Conservation Association , invites community members to participate in the Mini Forest Community Planting event. This free event will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.at Rotary Park.
As part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to combat climate change and enhance our tree canopy, this event will contribute to our ‘1,000 New Trees – 2024 Community Tree Planting Challenge’, aimed at planting 1,000 trees across Lincoln this year. Every tree planted brings us closer to achieving this important milestone.

Help us combat climate change and make our community greener – one tree at a time. By joining this effort, you will be planting native trees and shrubs as part of a new Mini Forest, contributing to reducing the urban heat island effect, improving air quality, and enhancing local biodiversity.
High school students who participate will also be eligible to receive volunteer hour credits toward their community service requirements.
