Niagara Region Seeking Public Input For Next Phase Of Future Waste Management Plan

An Invite to the  Public from Niagara’s Regional Government

Niagara Region is inviting public input as it enters phase two of developing the Waste Management Strategic Plan (the Plan), which will set the framework and direction for waste management in the region over the next 25 years.

During this phase, members of the public, businesses and organizations can provide their feedback on:

  • The mission statement, vision statement, goals and guiding principles that were developed in phase one Potential programs, services and initiatives, including waste disposal options, that will help Niagara Region achieve the Plan’s goals.

Members of the public can attend one of the following on-line open houses to learn more about the Plan:

  • Public Open House #1 – Sept. 10, 2024 | 7 – 8 p.m.Public Open House #2 – Sept. 16, 2024 | 7 – 8 p.m.
  • Feedback can also be shared through an online survey available Sept. 10 – 30.

These engagement opportunities will inform the second phase of the project and provide valuable information as the Plan moves forward.

Development of the Plan consists of three key phases that will answer:

  • “Where are we?” by assessing the current system (phase one)“Where do we want to go?” by investigating options (phase two)“How are we going to get there?” by selecting the preferred options (phase three)
  • Interested parties will have additional opportunities to provide input during the final phase of the Plan development.
