This weekend – featuring more than 300 creative urban gardens in Buffalo, New York!
Saturday & Sunday, July 27 & 28, 10am-4pm
An Invited to All from the Organizers of GardenWalk Buffalo
Posted July 25th, 2024 on Niagara At Large
A Brief Foreword from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large – For all of you who have never really visited the heart of Buffalo – who may have just driven on the beltway to get to the airport or to the Walden Galleria mall or the state thruway and have only been exposed to abandoned and broken down mills and warehouses and housing that has fallen into ruin along the way – GardenWalk Buffalo will take you to neigbourhoods where the architecture and tree-lined streetscape rivals any town or city on the continent.
This event is an opportunity to experience the tremendous sense of community and pride people living in those neighbourhoods have – a sense of community and pride I wish we had more of on the the Canadian side of the Niagara River.
I have never crossed paths with a fellow Canadian who has crossed the border for this great and free-of-charge summer event that hasn’t felt the same way.
By the way, you may want to park your car in a convenient spot, and take one of the free shuttle bus rides from neighbourhood to neigbhourhood with tour guides that talk about the city’s history and many architectural treasures.
Now here is the news release from the organizers of GardenWalk Buffalo –
America’s largest garden tour is back for its 30th year!
The self-guided tour is absolutely free—no tickets required. Just get yourself a map and start touring!
More than 300 creative and gracious gardeners are looking forward to seeing you again – or for the first time. For more, visit GardenWalkBuffalo.com (https://www.gardensbuffaloniagara.com/garden-walk-buffalo) .
