A Call-Out to All of Us from Ontario Nature, a non-profit citizens organization dedicated to protecting and preserving what is left of Ontario’s natural heritage

When is the urban sprawl over what is left of our life-sustaining food-growing lands and green places for other living creatures going to end?

The housing crisis will not be solved by sprawl that removes Ontario’s precious natural areas and farmland.

That is why Ontario Nature is a member of the Alliance for a Liveable Ontario  (ALO), which represents more than 130 groups and over 900 individual members.

The cross-sector alliance includes representation from agriculture, urban planning, environment, housing affordability, labour, academia and businesses.

ALO is a collaborative and inclusive alliance seeking to ensure communities are vibrant, healthy, affordable, climate resilient and surrounded by permanently protected farmland and natural areas. You can read more about ALO in our blog post <https://ontarionature.thankyou4caring.org/page.redir?target=https%3a%2f%2fontarionature.org%2fintroducing-the-alliance-for-a-liveable-ontario-blog%2f&srcid=57762&srctid=1&erid=13533365&trid=8d3a03b3-bbeb-413b-ab29-e9c52aa20c18>.

We are reaching out to you to share an upcoming webinar:

ALO Housing Webinar – ‍Register here.

Is provincial housing policy at odds with consumer and market trends? You can be the first to see new polling data on housing preferences and housing starts in Ontario.

This webinar will feature Sarah Roberton (Senior V.P. Public Affairs, Environics Research) and Kevin Eby (former Director of Community Planning, Region of Waterloo). The webinar is on Thursday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m.

We can collectively build better communities without sacrificing natural areas and farmland. Ontario Nature will continue to advocate for better provincial planning policies that simultaneously recognize and address the housing, biodiversity, and climate crises.
