Two more beluga whales died at Marineland in (a large amusement park in Niagara Falls, Ontario) this (past) week.
That brings the marine mammal death toll at this “attraction” In the last five years to 21 – 16 belugas, an orca, two seals, and two sea lions.
How many more animals have to die before the (Ontario Ford) government takes action?
Whales and dolphins are highly intelligent and social creatures. They should not be held in captivity for our “entertainment”.

This must stop now. These animals should be relocated to appropriate wildlife and marine sanctuaries and Marineland can become an amusement park with no captive animals.
Ontario Greens are calling on Premier Ford and Solicitor General Michael Kerzner, whose ministry is responsible for animal welfare, to do the humane thing and put an end to animal captivity at Marineland.
