Top Species at Risk From Ford Government’s Proposed Hwy 413

News from the Green Party of Ontario

When it comes to the environment, Doug Ford swings his wrecking ball with reckless abandon.

Take the proposed Highway 413, for example. If built, over a dozen species  – birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles and insects – already at risk will be pushed closer to the edge:

            * Blanding’s Turtle

            * Butternut Tree

            * Eastern Meadowlark

            * Eastern Ribbonsnake

            * Jefferson Salamander

            * Least Bittern

            * Monarch Butterfly

            * Rapids Clubtail

            * Red-headed Woodpecker

            * Redside Dace Minnow

            * Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee

            * Short-eared Owl

            * Unisexual Ambystoma

            * Wood Thrush

            * Western Chorus Frog

No fewer than 15 species will be critically impacted thanks to this single project. It would be an ecological disaster.

WORSE YET, DOUG FORD WANTS TO WEAKEN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTIONS EVERYWHEREWITH HIS _GET IT DONE ACT.

Imagine if Ford succeeds. The devastation in Ontario from his environmental wrecking ball will be incalculable.

However, there’s still reason to hope. After a year of walkbacks, flip-flops and legal embarrassments, we know it’s possible to force him to reverse course. That’s why we’re fighting so hard.

Stop Doug Ford’s Wrecking Ball

Sincerely, Ontario Greens
