Alexie Nvalny, a brave Russian opponent of Putin’s brutal autocracy has died at age 47 in the harsh conditions of a penal colony he was condemned to for fighting for a life free of corruption and oppression for his fellow citizens.
Now all Putin has to hope for is that Donald Trump, his useful idiot in the United States, is once again elected President who is already signaling his desire to dismember the NATO alliance and gives him the green light to finish off Ukraine – a scenario that could trigger World War III.
How and when does all this madness stop?

I’m surprised Alexei didn’t fall out of a window. The building codes in Russia are atrocious.
If possible, watch the award winning documentary “Navalny” where he actually tricked his would-be assassins into admitting that they tried to kill him with the deadly toxin, Novichok. It’s amazing he survived. I’m sure it will be widely available to watch due to his murder….I mean “natural” death.
The same toxin was used in Salisbury, England in an attempt to kill a Russian critic. Several dissidents have suffered similar fates by poisoning and even blatant shootings both in Russia and in foreign nations. It seems no one is beyond Putin’s reach.
Trump has said he believes a President should be immune from prosecution and suggested men like General Milley and Attorney General Barr were treasonous and deserve execution for not supporting him.
Navalny was a martyr in every sense of the word. He knew the consequences of his return to Russia but placed himself in imminent peril to return and help his country win freedom from a tyrant. Sad as it is, I hope his death will eventually achieve that.

Navalny is a true martyr. He knew what he faced returning to Russia but his love of country was more important than his possible fate. Sadly, but hopefully, his death might achieve the changes he sought for his countrymen.
