If Trump Gets Back In The Oval Office Again – And Thanks To Millions of Americans He’s Put a Spell On, He Very Well Might – WE’RE ALL IN BIG TROUBLE!

Over this passing Holiday Season, I stole a little time from all the hustle and bustle of last-minute shopping to watch the classic Dr. Seuss-animated version of ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas!’ again.
Here, immediately below, is a headshot of the Grinch, with that wicked smile on his face while he hatches his plan to steal all the children’s Christmas toys.
I wasn’t long into the Grinch story when it made me think of another, possibly even more devious and dangerous character.
Here, immediately below, is a headshot of him, with a smile just as wicked, if not more so, as worn by the Grinch.
In that smile, it is not hard to imagine him dreaming of the day when he once again assumes the highest office in his land and uses and abuses its powers to tear up his country’s Constitution and blow away all the democratic rules and institutions around him, and proceeds to wreak havoc on every longtime friend and democratic ally in the world, including Canada.
Donald Trump – as mired in criminal charges as he now is and even as he parrots some of the most vile, hateful words and phrases from Adolf Hitler’s fascist manifesto Mein Kampf – continues to see his public support grow higher and higher as he campaigns ahead of his country’s coming 2024 elections for a second term as president.
Just as jaw-dropping as his strength in the polls, is the fear from Democratic Party operatives on the other side that millions of more moderate Americans and younger ones who we are told by many political experts the current President, Joe Biden, needs to beat Trump, may stay home rather than vote because they think the price of eggs is too high and Biden, now 81, is “too old.”

If I was an American, I’d vote for incumbent President Joe Biden over the menace of Trump if Biden was not his deathbed, which he is not.
If I were an American and there was any chance, which there is, that Trump might win next November, I would move mountains to get to a polluting station and vote for Joe Biden, even if he was 100 years old.
Hell, I would vote for Biden if he was lying in state at the time the polls opened!
We Canadians are delusional if we don’t think our country which, geographically and economically, is joined at the hip with the United States, will not see our security and our quality of life suffer what could be a knock-out punch if Trump is back in the Oval Office.
Those of us who paid attention the first time he was in the White House, no doubt recalls that, among other things, Trump declared Canada – one of his country’s oldest friends –a “national security risk” and moved to slam stiff tariffs on our steel, aluminum and dairy products to the detriment of people , their jobs and pocketbooks in both countries.
With Trump, we would once again be coping with a president who thinks climate change, one of the most serious threats to the survival of all humanity, is a hoax and who would further unravel environmental rules in place to protect the air we breathe and the world’s largest supply of fresh, life-supporting water in our Great Lakes.
There is also the danger of whatever deadly virus that might come next migrating across our shared border, not to mention the migration of a more virulent culture of anti-democratic propaganda, racism and violence which, thanks to the tone that has already been set by Trump, we are experiencing at least a whiff of in Canada already.
The list of threats from this highly unstable narcissistic psycho who would once again have access to the nuclear codes goes on and on.
So we Canadians have a life-and-death stake in who wins the 2024 presidential election race and there are far more than a few of us who have relatives and friends living in the United States who are eligible to vote.
For their sake AND OURS, please start pressing our acquaintances on the U.S. side of the border to make every effort to defeat Trump this coming November. By all means, urge them to vote and to go out campaigning for Biden and for others running for the U.S. Senate and Congress who promise to put their pledge to democracy and serving the people above the personal power THAT IS Donald Trump.
The stakes for all of us in this coming U.S. presidential election couldn’t be higher.

A Final Note from Doug Draper – I would advise anyone to get a copy of a “Special Issue” of The Atlantic Magazine, issued this December, that includes several acclaimed writers outlining the dire consequences of Trump winning a second term of office.
This issue of Atlantic is a true public service and the magazine’s editors and writers should be commended for doing what all American media organizations should do at a time when all of the democratic values the United States has worked to uphold for close to 250 years are now on the line.

His former “fixer”, the term used by mob basses to describe their consiglieres, who fessed up his sins and went to jail for Trump (Michael Cohen) said, having known him for decades, he wants to be a Czar like Putin and should he win would love to take over both Canada and Mexico. I suggested that to a friend several years ago. That is SCARY!!!!!
