QUEEN’S PARK – After spending a year wasting precious time with his corrupt attempt to give Greenbelt land to land speculators, Ford’s failed housing policies have left Ontarians with a housing supply that continues to stagnate while demand soars through the roof.

“It’s crystal clear that we need to build different types of homes that can house Ontarians at every stage of their lives, in the communities they want to live in,” said MPP Jessica Bell (University-Rosedale), Official Opposition NDP housing critic.

“We need to get serious about good policies that will help build the affordable homes we need and get the government back in the business of building housing.”

(CHSP) this morning revealed a housing supply that slowed last year under Ford’s government, with growth rates far below the urgent demand for affordable housing.

“For months, Ford has been distracted, handing out MZOs or urban boundary expansions to wealthy insiders, instead of concentrating on building the homes we urgently need,” said MPP Jeff Burch (Niagara Centre), NDP Municipal Affairs critic. “With today’s news, we see how much progress Ford has really cost us. We can’t afford any more of his bad decisions.”
